London-Irish singer, songwriter, and contemporary folk artist Lewis Barfoot returns to The Globe at Hay for her second appearance in Hay-on-Wye as part of her Spring UK tour. Rooted in folk traditions and rich storytelling, her songs are shaped by fingerpicked guitar, “Vocals that melt the hearts of angels” (KLOF), and lyrics that reflect the human experience in a beautifully profound and often playful way. She has released two acclaimed albums, Glenaphuca (2021) and HOME (2023), both supported by BBC Radio, RTÉ Radio 1, Folk Radio UK, and RTÉ na Gaeltachta, and is currently developing a new album of traditional songs, The Old Bog Road.
’The delightful sound of a musician who is both an accomplished composer of original material and also a torchbearer keeping alive traditional styles and song’ — KLOF
“An arrestingly good vocalist and songwriter” — John O’Regan, Living Tradition
“A balm for the soul” - Lillian Smith, RTÉ Radio 1
