DJs                                                                                                                                                                          Mark Hilton started his DJ career in Sheffield in the 90's. He owned a record shop which he ran during the day, and DJ'd in the clubs and bars of Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester at night, before moving on to play in London, and across Europe in venues such as Tresor in Berlin, Fabric and Plastic People in London. Mark has dj'd with the likes of Kenny Dope, Little Louie Vega, Craig Charles, DJ Harvey, Gilles Peterson and even John Peel! Mark has always stuck to his love of funk, soul, dance-floor Latin, nu Jazz - with a little bit of disco thrown in! Mark will be playing a mix of these genres. Think: Sly & The Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Gil Scott-Heron, Khruangbin, Ezra Collectve, Moodymann, Curtis Mayfield, Lady Blackbird, Nina Simone, DJ NU-Mark, Ikebe Shakedown, Sergio Mendes and The Meters, to name but a few! So, if you are into Craig Charles (Radio 6) and Gilles Peterson, your in for a treat!

Live Music

EDDY will be performing live from her latest EP. She loves to experiment with different writing styles and genres. Her lyrics are stories that the listener can easily connect with. EDDY writes and performs a range of indie/folk/r&b and pop-rock, loaded with raw and dreamy lyrics that explore an emotional landscape.

Jonny James and his funk band 'The Rhythm' return under popular demand! They had everyone on the dance floor last time they performed for us and we expect no less again!

About Hay Free Radio                                                                                                                                                 Hay Free Radio is a new venture based in Hay-on-Wye. They aim to bring you incredible music, with both live sets from local musicians, and from a great selection of tracks by their DJs who will be playing sets akin to the style of Mr Scruff meets Craig Charles, with an eclectic mix of the greats from the past with some new and upcoming artists. 

We are a community project looking to promote local talent with a series of live events over the coming year.
